1. Who we are
ParkShare is a New Zealand parking marketplace that helps drivers find and book private parking spaces, and helps hosts list suitable unused driveways, garages, or parking spaces.
ParkShare Limited owns the ParkShare app, website, brand, platform, and related intellectual property. ParkShare Operations Limited is intended to run the day-to-day ParkShare service. You can contact us at parkshare.co@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use ParkShare, we may collect:
- name, email address, and contact details submitted through the app, website, waitlist, or support channels;
- phone numbers submitted through website waitlist or host verification forms, and phone numbers in the app if phone verification is enabled;
- host residential address, parking space address, place ID, latitude/longitude, and listing location information;
- listing details such as space type, availability, photos, instructions, access notes, and host notes;
- booking details including date, time, duration, listing, status, cancellation/refund records, and purchase history;
- messages sent between hosts and drivers;
- account identifiers and technical information needed for authentication, security, support, and app functionality;
- push notification tokens if notifications are enabled;
- information sent to us when you contact support.
3. Payment information
ParkShare uses Stripe to process payments. ParkShare does not store full card numbers or full card security codes on its own servers. We may store booking, payment status, refund, fee, and purchase history records so the platform can operate and users can view their bookings.
4. How we use information
We use information to operate ParkShare, including to create accounts, verify hosts, display listings, show parking spaces on maps, process bookings, support payments and refunds, enable messages, send booking or account communications, improve safety, prevent misuse, provide support, and meet legal or platform obligations.
5. Services we use
ParkShare may use service providers including Supabase for backend, authentication, database and storage; Stripe for payments; Google Maps/Places for address autocomplete, maps and location features; Resend or domain email services for transactional emails; and push notification services for app notifications.
6. Sharing information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us run ParkShare, with hosts or drivers when needed for a booking, where required by law, to protect users or the platform, or as part of a business restructure or transfer if appropriate safeguards are used.
7. Host and driver visibility
Some information must be visible to other users for ParkShare to work. For example, drivers may see listing locations, access instructions, host details needed for a booking, and messages. Hosts may see booking details, driver account details needed for the booking, and messages.
8. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect information using technical and organisational measures. No online service can guarantee complete security, so users should keep login details private and contact us quickly if they believe their account has been misused.
9. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide ParkShare, keep booking/payment records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, prevent misuse, and support users. We may retain some records after an account is closed where required for legitimate business, safety, tax, accounting, or legal reasons.
10. Your choices and rights
You can contact us at parkshare.co@gmail.com to ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Some information may need to be retained where required for bookings, disputes, security, legal compliance, or financial records.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ParkShare changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
